The State of Sustainable Digital Design

Digital technology has made our reality, our, should we say, realities, one’s of endless, never-ending possibilities.

We sit at the epicentre of exploration, innovation and experimentation. As designers, technologists, makers, and artists, we are responsible for creating new ways of negotiating these realities. What we make today has more cultural significance than ever. We can all feel it - we are on the edge of a new point in history. One fueled by a promise of endless growth and potential in digital design and creativity. But how does our work impact the planet? And what can we do to challenge unsustainable digital practices?

The State of Sustainable Digital Design Report published by the SDD initiative and Wonderland Studio identifies the core factors that make digital creative industries more impactful than might be thought. The report provides an overview of current activities in the creative industries and action points any individual, studio or organisation can take today to make their digital practice more conscious.

Each quarter we calculate how many downloads we get and offset the emissions through a High-impact Gold Standard carbon credits initiative. We'll publish this contribution at the end of Q4.
